Wenham Museum unveils Wenham in All SeasonsThe Wenham Museum invites the public to take a look at “Wenham in All Seasons,” their latest piece of art now display.

The oil painting, commissioned by the museum itself, was created by Beverly Farms artist Valerie Weigand McCaffrey and features a rendition of the town encompassing major landmarks in a painterly landscape.

The piece was unveiled to the public at large on Friday, May 6, during the Wenham Museum’s Fiesta on Main Street event, a major fundraiser for the museum’s exhibits, programs, activities, and collections.

McCaffrey said she hadn’t fully explored Wenham before the commission, but quickly developed a soft spot for the small town.

“I had to learn about Wenham but I wanted to learn about Wenham after seeing the love of Wenham,” she said.

The unveiling also included a short video presentation by McCaffrey discussing how the painting came together.

“The composition is the single most challenging part,” she said. “I wait for it to gel in my mind.”

The first print of the painting was given to Cathy Ebling, an honorary museum trustee, in appreciation to her many years of service and dedication to the Wenham Museum.

The fiesta also allowed museum supporters a night to cut loose with south-of-the-border food and party favors.

The event also included a celebrity bartending competition in which teams of servers attempted to secure the most “tips” for their team- all of which supported the Wenham Museum.

Teams were formed from both groups of friends to professional organizations and included a variety of themes ranging from “Purple Rain” to the “Austin Powers” films.
